Tucson Electric Power selected WAM for photogrammetric services to assist in the selection of a route for the proposed Gateway 345 KV Transmission Line Corridor from Tucson to Nogales, AZ.

The proposed route crossed sensitive areas (sacred Native American lands) with no access for placing aerial targets. WAM planned the project using a combination of aerial targeting, photo id control points and ABGPS on all flights to eliminate the need for placing aerial targets in the sensitive areas. Mapping photography was 1"=1000' scale and ortho photography was 1"=2000' scale

Mapping, DTM files and digital orthos of the initial route (65 miles long) were completed and delivered in 30 days. DTM files contained a post spacing of 25' and were produced using the Match-T autocorrelation software.

Digital Ortho photos with 1' pixels were produced in TIFF and SID file formats.

Subsequent reroutes of the corridor totaled and additional 30 miles in length.

Additional services were provided for the Winchester sub-station site.
